Camping space is limited and on a first come-first serve basis. If you want a spot [+more] you need to reserve it now. If you don't reserve it now you're out of luck. You will not be able to "just show up" and find a spot. Otter Lake staff will contact you after the first of the year to confirm your reservation. Be respectful. They do a great job. If you're new to Crusher: Be advised we don't roll like other events. We're not here to hold your hand - neither are Ellen and the campground staff. Crusher is self-supported. You are responsible for your preparation and getting ready. It's up to you to find the info you need. It's up to you to secure a spot at the campground before it fills up. It's up to you to let Ellen know if your plans change. It's up to you to make a positive contribution to the Crusher community. IF this doesn't sound like your cup of tea - cool. We are paying for the venue. If you snag a spot you won't have to pay for it. Everything else IS on you (firewood, beer, food, ice, ibuprofen, etc.)DO NOT call, text, email, direct message, or mail a letter to Otter Lake Campground. THEY WILL CALL YOU after they get the list from us.
The Crusher is a member of the Triple Crown Endurance Trilogy (Polar Roll, The Crusher, [+more] Marji Gesick) produced by 906AT. The events have helped us develop and support Adventure Teams in nine communities across the Midwest. In 2022 we worked with 700+ youth and 300+ volunteers leaders. Adventure Teams get kids outside and connect them with other kids, families, and adults in their community. This is not a race program. This is a development program for youth resilience. Youth are the future. The future health and wealth of our communities depends on their ability to become leaders. How are we different from bike teams and other youth cycling organizations? - We work with kids age 5-17.- Boys and girls adventure together, Men and women lead together (45% of participants + leaders are female).- There is an attendance policy - commitment is important. - We teach kids how to have fun doing hard things.- We focus on personal competition (YOU vs. YOU). - Our core values don't just live on a website or t-shirt, you see them in action (Respect, Effort, Consistency, Grit, Adaptability). Our mission is to empower people to become the best version of themselves through outdoor adventure. Through struggle we grow stronger.
